The ideas and research for this essay were formulated through my experience with technology integration in a 1:1 iPad pilot math classroom. During that first year, there were several other pilot classrooms with iPads. Degrees of use and successful implementation varied.
The essay below discusses the impact on learning that effective implementation of new tools can have on students' education. Additionally, much attention is given to how technology is implemented and the professional development and learner-centered training that needs to coincide with successful integration of new sociotechnical systems.
