Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching

Socrative is a great tool to use for short formative assessments. It is designed for quick check-ins, exit ticket style questions, and class competitions. The ability to turn feedback on/off is valuable, as well.

Since math is a subject where value is put on the steps students used to reach their solution, it was not my go to source for summative assessments. However, we used it often with sets of five or less questions. The ability to get and give instant feedback was a primary reason for integrating this technology tool into the classroom. We used it on both laptops and iPads.

The Space Race Mode image that you see is a screen that can be shared with the students as they compete to answer a set of questions with their team. Correct answers move their rocket forward.

Below that is an example of the spreadsheet / report that is accessible following any assessment that is given. It will auto-grade the answers, as well. I included this image because of the example it provides on students being able to submit their own comments and feedback, as well.
